Isparta from Pamukkale

Isparta Province — 180 km east of Pamukkale — is known as Turkey's 'lake district' and the world capital of rose oil. In early summer the lavender fields of Kuyucak are a photographer's dream.

  • Eğirdir Lake — huge freshwater lake with the town on a narrow peninsula. Apple orchards.
  • Kuyucak lavender fields — best in late June / early July. Instagram-famous.
  • Rose farms — late May to mid-June for the rose harvest and distillation.
  • Sagalassos is also accessible via Isparta route.

Logistics: 180 km, 2.5 h drive. Day trip possible; overnight in Eğirdir recommended for lake dinner + sunset.
