Aphrodisias Ancient City
Aphrodisias is a UNESCO World Heritage Site named after Aphrodite, goddess of love. It was one of the ancient world's great sculpture-making centres and its on-site museum holds exceptional Roman marble statues in remarkable condition.
Highlights: Temple of Aphrodite, Sebasteion reliefs, stadium (one of the best-preserved in the ancient world, 30,000 seats), theatre.
How to get there: About 100 km from Sinter Terasse Hotel (1.5 h drive). A full-day trip; best done with a private driver or rental car.
